Sammi Steel and Terence Town

Sammi Steel of Webster, Missouri, was married Saturday, June 1st, 2013, to Terence Town of St, Louis, Missouri, in a ceremony held at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. The ceremony was performed by James Jones who is a minister.

Ms. Steel, 26, is employed as a marketing associate by the St. Louis Cardinals in St. Louis. She previously represented the  state of Missouri in the Miss America pageant as Miss Missouri. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Ms. Steel graduated from Hannibal High in Hannibal, Missouri. While in college, she was Homecoming Queen. In high school, she was captain of the cheer-leading squad.

Mr. Town, 27, is employed as an assistant general manager supervising minor league operations for the St. Louis Cardinals. He  previously ran the minor  league farm team of Cardinals, the Rolla Redbirds in Rolla, Mo.. He graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York . Mr. Town graduated from Hall High School High School in West Hartford, Connecticut. While in college, he was varsity baseball team short stop in 2008 and 2009.

Ms. Steel is the daughter of Sheila Steel of Hannibal, Missouri and Samuel Steel of New Orleans, Louisiana. Ms. Steel’s mother is a town clerk for the town of Hannibal in Hannibal, Missouri. She previously was a docent at the Mark Twain Museum in Hannibal.  Ms. Steel’s father is a riverboat captain for Natchez Trace Steamboat Co. in New Orleans, Louisiana. He previously was dock manager, Port of Hannibal.

Mr. Town is the son of Tina Town of West Hartford, Connecticut, and Thomas Town of West Hartford, Connecticut. Mr. Town’s mother is a retail sales supervisor for Lord & Taylor in West Hartford, Connecticut. Mr. Town’s father is a lawyer for Day, Berry & Howard in Hartford, Connecticut. In high school, he was  second runner up, national spelling bee, 1986.

Mr. Town’s great grandfather Charles Town invented radiation therapy for cancer tumors.

It is a first marriage for Ms. Steel and a first marriage for Mr. Town.
